If you've been following the blog posts from CrossWay Missions you'll remember that Good News Radio went live on October 15th, 2018. Though the station was streaming live worldwide, nobody was listening... WHY?
I'm glad you asked that question... thanks to some technical issues at SHOUTCAST (the vehicle through which the radio stream is provided worldwide), and the streaming service I utilize to provide the stream to Shoutcast, the station - Good News Radio - was NOT listed in the Shoutcast Directory. This made it impossible for the station to be found by would-be listeners and also hindered the listing of the station in other worldwide directories. After months of frustration, technical tweaks, the fixing of technical issues at the Shoutcast end, and lots of prayers, the problem was finally fixed as of February 14th and things started moving... FAST!
After the technical issues were resolved I was free to submit the Station to numerous worldwide directories (approximately 18 so far). Even though all 18 directories have not finished the listing process and despite some reluctance on the part of some, the station is now listed in Shoutcast, Radio.Net, Streamitter, LiveRadio.ie, Live Online Radio, Radio Garden, and Internet Radio. That's only 7 of the 18 submitted to, but the results are amazing!
As of this morning, Good News Radio has broadcast and logged 13,194 listener minutes... (that's the amount of time people have connected and listened to the station). Listeners have connected 2,279 times (sessions). There have been 2188 unique listeners plug into Good News Radio from 105 Countries. ALL IN ONLY ONE MONTH!
Think about it... that's like having your church doors open 24/7 and in one month, 2188 people from 105 countries have come through those doors and heard the word of God! Some only stay a moment, but many stay hours listening to God's word being preached by great gospel preachers! It is truly vast and amazing!
Considering the overwhelming popularity of smart devices and the sheer numbers (24 billion by the end of 2020), if the church is going to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ... it will be through this medium.
The NEXT Good News from CrossWay Missions is the completion of the Good News Radio App. That's right... we have an APP!

If you are an Apple user, you'll have to wait a little while longer. The App Store, (Apple) is very slow and tedious in their process of accepting Apps and allowing them to be published in the App Store.
