Today, I found out that there is a huge fishing tournament in Carrabelle on the weekend of our launch for Saint Lucia. Therefore, the marina where I was going to have the Bon Voyage party the night before our departure, cannot accommodate our small group.
In prayerful desperation, I drove around Carrabelle and searched for another place for the small get-together, but there appeared to be no waterfront location for the event. After being told "no" and "we doubt it" by numerous marinas and private docks, I drove to the end of Marine St and walked around The Carrabelle Riverwalk & Wharf. There was one dock where Annie could be docked and there was plenty of room for a small get-together. There are restroom facilities, a pavilion, fishing docks, and plenty of parking. It was perfect! I headed to City Hall to see if I could use the facilities.
A very helpful lady by the name of Miranda told me that nobody could stay overnight and they had not allowed anyone to do what I wanted to do. BUT... again, she was very kind and helpful, so she took my name and number, and told me she would speak to the City Administrator, Courtney Millender, and inform her of my dilemma. I left with a little hope... but only a little. Ten minutes after I left, Miranda called me back and informed me she had talked to Courtney and I could use the park if I promised to leave early the next morning. I told her we would be shoving off for Saint Lucia at 9:00 AM. She said that would be fine.

To those who plan on coming to the Bon Voyage party and staying overnight to see us off the next morning at 9:00 AM, you should consider making a reservation at one of the nearby hotels/motels. Remember, that weekend is a big fishing tournament weekend and rooms will be booked early. Below, you will find a list of a few nearby hotels/motels but there are many more in the area. I recommend using Google Maps to locate hotels/motels in the area.
